It all started with two right swipes on a November weekend in San Diego that kept Ryan waiting so long that he extended his match time with Stephanie, unknowingly, foreshadowing their lives together.

Stephanie and Ryan met on a Saturday mid-morning the day after Thanksgiving for a game of golf. Ryan, sensing Stephanie’s love for luxury, opted for a golf cart (point for Ryan) and immediately won Stephanie over. With everyone at the top of their game, the date flew by, ending with an exchange for phone numbers.

Ryan was immediately love struck and took the initiative to show off more of his athletic skills by asking Stephanie to go ice skating on their next date. He wooed her with his parallel parking skills, charm, and effortless gliding across the ice.

Over the next couple of months, they traveled, hiked (with or without Ralph and Napoleon), bounced around San Diego's hotspots from the zoo to Petco Park, and even getting “lost” in Anza Borrego, their time together was packed with adventure.

Stephanie's passion for jet-setting and Ryan's love for flying perfectly complemented each other, fueling their adventures. From family visits on the east coast, European escapades to port call visits in the South Pacific, Stephanie and Ryan have explored the world together, 7 countries, 18 cities, and it doesn't stop there. However, traveling had to take a pause as Ryan left for their first deployment together. Through the months of waiting for Ryan's safe return home, Stephanie continued to plan for their next adventure while Ryan had a plan of his own.

After Ryan's return home, they were in for a special treat. On a shockingly sunny spring day in San Francisco, Ryan got down on one knee and asked Stephanie to marry him. Speechless by the shock of it all, Stephanie finally had no words in her. After the long pause, she was able to say "YES!".
